Viognier

Description:
This variety was first planted commercially in South Africa in the 1990s.

Serve between 10° and 14° C

Colour:
The older wines tend to yellow and show a burnished golden hue. When young the wine is clear diamond bright.

Aroma:
When young it is very perfumed but this diminishes with age. The aromas found here include peaches, apricot and blossom.

Flavour:
The peach and apricot associated with this wine persist through to the palate.

Pairings:
Although it goes well with Asian foods, it does not pair well with chilli. It does however compliment chicken and fish dishes.
